Press Photographers of the Philippines-USA (PPP-USA) has been in existence for decades. It is composed of professional photographers with ties to the media. This organization is affiliated with Press Photographers of the Philippines, of which it looks up too as its progenitor.
PPP-USA is a non-profit organization that serves as a uniting force for press and commercial photographers, visual artists, painters, illustrators, graphics designers, videographers, journalists and web developers.
At its inception, PPP-USA opened its doors only to male photographers and enthusiasts. Today, the club opened its doors to admit female photographers and writers as well.
PPP-USA believed that camaraderie and brotherhood is essential to promote social enjoyment among the members, to cultivate literary taste, to encourage friendly interaction among newsmen and those with whom they were thrown in contact in the pursuit of their vocation, to aid members in distress and to foster the ethical standards of photo journalism.
As a civic organization, PPP-USA undertakes projects and ties to the community. It also holds series of photo exhibits over the years. It currently holds monthly outdoor photo shoot to harness skills in photography.
In this ever changing environment, PPP-USA provides this site to members and communications professionals as a tool necessary to keep up with the news through photo journalism here and at home.
